Kobe Beef Photos
Teppanaki style because you need beef pre-cut if you eat it with chopsticks.
The piece second from the left was the more expensive cut, but it had an awful lot of fat on it. It did taste better though.
Full plate with veggies (lots of sprouts), garlic potato chips and the beef.
Bamboo Grove and Monkey Park Photos
The Grove of people! It was so busy because of the holiday.
Random cemetery in the Bamboo Grove area. Many of the ones we saw had shrine-like tombstone or mausoleums.
Think of all the bamboo floor you could make from all that!
Climbing to see monkeys. It was a hike!
At least there was a good view from the top.
This is how you feed the monkeys. The monkeys are outside - the people are inside.
Just a monkey walking by me.
Random sticker we saw on the way down.
Dave wouldn't go anywhere near the edge, it was pretty funny, although they didn't have the best fences/barriers to keep you from falling.
Temple of the Golden Pavilion Photos
Pretty sure it's not real gold anymore. The original temple burned down ~50 years ago.
This is about as close as you get to the temple.
Gion + Geisha dress up Photos
Our "free time" outside. No one bought that Dave was a samurai...
Random temple in Gion. Gion is an area in Kyoto where geishas typically live. We didn't see any real ones.
We came across a cheerleading competition near one of the temples. It was weird because they have all ages at one time, so the 3-year-olds are doing the same moves as the high school kids.
Just a large Buddha hanging out by the cheerleading competition.
This was the path up to that temple and the cheerleading competition. It was tough, but not as bad as monkey park.
The girl put a corset on me. All it did was squish my boobs. I don't think that curvy or hourglass shaped is real big over there.
